Steveston Salmon Festival Parade

After a month of rehearsals, we stepped into the parade with Zhou Shen's music, our community colours, and a great deal of pride.

One Month Together

The parade began long before July 1.

For a full month, we rehearsed online every evening and met in person every weekend. The outdoor practices drew warm compliments from passersby. Some even stopped and joined us in the dance.

Those rehearsals gave us one more lovely surprise: we met a new Shengmi along the way.

Parade Day

“Zhou Shen?!”

As we made our way through Steveston, we kept hearing delighted voices from the crowd: “Zhou Shen?!” “These are Zhou Shen's fans!” “That's amazing!”

We felt deeply proud. Every evening online, every weekend in person, and every carefully practised step had brought us here—to be seen, recognized, and celebrated together.
