Turning an Afternoon Sweet

This time, Vancouver ShengMi held a relaxed baking gathering.

Among us were many hidden baking masters. They may seem quiet in everyday life, but once they step into the kitchen, their secret talents immediately appear: precise recipes, steady hands, beautiful decorations, and every step looking almost like a tutorial.

And then there were the rest of us, the self-declared not-so-skilled ShengMi members, carefully mixing, piping, decorating, and trying our best not to make a mess.

Sweetness, Not Perfection

With guidance and encouragement from the baking experts, we slowly turned simple ingredients into pastries that were both beautiful and delicious.

Of course, the process was not perfectly smooth. The cream did not always cooperate. Some shapes went a little off track. There were moments of rushing, confusion, and laughter. But those imperfect little moments were exactly what made the gathering feel so real, warm, and lovely.
